Traditional Method: Boiled
Ingredients:
- 330g Pelmeni
- Sprinkle of black peppercorns (optional)
- 2-4 bay leaves (optional)
Condiments:
- Fresh herbs such as dill
- Sour cream
- Mayonnaise
- Butter
Method:
1. Fill a medium-sized pot halfway with water and add the black peppercorns and bay leaves, if desired.
2. Bring the water to a rolling boil.
3. Add the frozen dumplings to the boiling water and let them cook. When the dumplings rise to the surface, they are ready, which typically takes about 6-10 minutes.
4. Remove the pot from the heat, drain the water, and transfer the cooked dumplings to a serving dish.
5. Serve the boiled dumplings with your preferred condiments, such as fresh herbs like dill, sour cream, mayonnaise and or butter.
Note: It is important to ensure that the water is at a rolling boil to prevent the dumplings from sticking to the bottom of the pot and to each other. Unlike Chinese dumplings, these dumplings are not intended to be eaten with the stock, so be sure to drain the water before serving.
